Walking as Storytelling: recovering narrative from landscape

Visual Essay negotiating the phenomenological experience of walking with collating and creating narratives of place. Illustration practice visually explores the confluence of the micro (an individual rock) with the macro (a landscape) through cartographic rendering. Three figures are presented as guides or even waymarkers along this metaphorical journey, that of the storyteller, the scientist, and the pilgrim. The essay is folded like an OS map so that the reading is performative of the content.
